Privacy policy

This policy is short because the practice is simple.

What this site collects

When you send a message or fill in the project questionnaire, I receive what you typed, your name, email, and answers, by email and in this site’s database. That information is used to reply to you and for nothing else.

What this site doesn’t do

Your information isn’t sold or shared with anyone. Two outside services are involved, both from Google and both described below: visitor statistics and the spam check on the forms. There are no advertising trackers. Payments and donations are never processed on this site. When a project needs them, they’re handled by specialized platforms with their own protections and policies.

Visitor statistics

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and what kind of device they use. I only see totals, and I use them to learn which pages help people. Google processes this data under its privacy policy. You can block it with any content blocker, or with Google’s opt-out add-on, and the site works the same.

Spam protection

The contact form and the project questionnaire use Google reCAPTCHA to keep spam bots out. On those two pages, Google’s script looks at how the page is being used and sends that to Google, which returns a score. It doesn’t ask you to click anything. Google’s privacy policy and terms of service apply to that check.

Cookies

The site uses the minimal cookies WordPress needs to function, plus Google Analytics cookies that tell a returning visit from a new one. On the two form pages, Google’s spam check may also set its own cookie. There are no advertising cookies.

Your information

Want to see what I have from you, or want it deleted? Ask, and I’ll do it promptly and confirm when it’s done.
